Watermark sensors are glued/riveted, on a semi-tender PVC tube, that we re-mould back in 2 diameters 25/22 mm
This is to insure a perfect contact with the soil, in the pre-hole made with the special spiral installing auger, designed with the same double diameter 25/22 mm.
Reminder : 6 to 16 Watermark sensors are installed per field, with a minimum 6 = 3 repetitions x 2 depths. This pattern is the only way to adress the heterogeneity of humidity in cultivated and irrigated soils, under different irrigation modes : submersion, flow irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, pivots, micro-irrigation, drip irrigation, etc…
The annual heterogeneity is doubled by a pluri-annual heterogeneity of soil structure (compaction) of cultivated soils. Watermark sensors measure tension on a range of 0 cb (wet) to 239 cb (dry), monitoring precisely irrigation, in almost all situations of crop/climate/soil/irrigation equipment.
